Quick update. Going to take a rest day/office day. Normally something like this would get me down and I would think of it as a set back, but I am looking at things a bit clearer. Trying to get into an optometrist this morning because my left eye seems to be very irritated. Spoke to my sports med doc Ed from Metro Health Sports Medicine via text this morning and sent a photo. He believes with wiping of eyes and sun and sand maybe a slight infection. Nothing that an optometrist or med center can’t fix. Keeping the shades drawn in the hotel room for now because of the pain, but no matter if I have to put a patch over my eye, I will be back on the road tomorrow. No downer moment here, just an excuse to rest and let some more muscle build up in my legs to tackle this to the finish… I will finish with a smile on my face. (Oh and it’s time to shave too, I am scaring myself and others… no Forrest Gump no shaving going on here).
